DigitalFilipino.com Club fellowship night

DigitalFilipino.com Club Davao Night The DigitalFilipino.com Club fellowship night and bloggers’ get-together last 21 October 2008 at the Casino Filipino in Davao was a very enjoyable and eye-opening event. Enjoyable because there were about a hundred bloggers there, and it’s always fun when bloggers come together to eat and play.

One of the things that made the affair an eye-opening experience for me was discovering that there are quite a number of Dabawenyo or Davao-based bloggers who made it this year’s Top 100 Philippine Blogs (a project of the DigitalFilipino.com Club in cooperation with Ratified.org). Among the top ten blogs are Jehzlau Concepts, Pinoy R.N., and Bakla Ako, May Reklamo?. The MindanaoBloggers community blog also made it to the roster of notable Filipino blogs.

Speaking of play, PAGCOR not only hosted our dinner and drinks, but also a poker game! Many of the bloggers who signed up for the "tournament" were beginners — but it was fun for everyone nevertheless. Problem was, there was a band playing rather loudly at the function hall where we were. It was a good band (who played mostly 80s music), but I couldn’t concentrate on my game, so I just begged off after a few rounds.

On the more serious side of the affair, Janette presented what the Club is currently busy with: the DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards, which is now on its 2nd year; and, the Top 100 Philippine Blogs project. Each one was also given the opportunity to introduce himself and his blog(s)… it was hard to imagine how we didn’t take the whole night doig that!

This networking event for bloggers and some of Davao’s IT professionals was refreshing for me, particularly because I didn’t have to organize it. big grin Now I look forward to the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit in General Santos City!

IT WAS FUN!!! Thanks a lot. It was great that I made it there because my schedule wouldn’t allow me to.

Hopefully next time, I am there 100% & stay longer because I needed to leave before the party & get back to the “real world.” I haven’t been sleeping much for 4 weeks when I attended the event (it’s 5 weeks now & counting). I was sort of sleep walking (I think). Well, I was more of a zombie – a happy to be there zombie :). I refuse to give in to stress & exhaustion. I felt loved because when I entered Pantawan Hall, I was greeted with much delicious food buffet. I was really meant to be there. Destiny. I love you too food. I mean thank you to the organizers. Thank you PAGCOR big grin

Although I’ve been blogging since 2004 (it doesn’t mean I’m a tech savvy), I still need to learn a lot such as technorati, feed burner, ratified, etc. What are they? (I come in peace aliens)

I’m looking forward to more of this events but sadly, I have to face the reality that I can’t join the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit :(( (again!!!) I’m still optimistic that I can come to another 1 & more (FOOOD!!!). YAY!

  8. Ang sarap maghost ng dinner ang PAGCOR! And we just displayed our new CBS shirt on this event in Cebu.

  9. Blogie says:
