I won’t leave any comment because it would be partial since I’m a Dabawenyo. But let this fact speaks for itself (excerpted from MINDANEWS)

In the previous assessments three under the Philippine Competitiveness among Cities Ranking Project (PCCRP), Davao also made it to the top five. The assessment started in 1999 where Davao City ranked 5th among 10 cities; 1st among 30 cities in 2002; while 3rd among 50 cities in 2003, 1st again among 65 cities in 2005.

i was just looking at the summary report and hmm.. pasay scored higher than davao for quality of life?? how is that at all possible? i used to live in makati, near the pasay border, and pasay has always had garbage problems. that, and prostitution (let’s just say that the many motels near the roxas blvd area don’t exactly cater to travelers), traffic jams, smog, flooding, not to mention the many resident leeches (mangingilad) in and around the NAIA and domestic airports… these don’t exactly scream “quality of life” to me.

then again, that was a few years ago. i’d be happy to be proven wrong since i’m sure pasay has improved. then again, so has davao. but i guess having the 3rd biggest mall in the world counts for something. oh well.
