While that overnight stay at Hof Gorei last weekend provided a welcome respite for me, the succeeding few days brought some of the stress back right away. Deadlines and hours in front of the computer left my back and neck screaming for release. So off to BodyBliss.
I could’ve gone to my usual and reliable massage clinic, but I thought I’d try this new place for a change. Thankfully, no regrets. BodyBliss — highly recommendable if you’d rather not spend too much on a good massage. No sauna or even showers at this place, though, but the treatment you get is satisfactory.
BodyBliss is right beside Netfront Café on C.M. Recto St., across the street from Aldevinco Shopping Center. The place is clean and presentable, just like any reputable spa. It’s not very big but at least each table is curtained off for privacy. My only complaint is that the massage table’s hole for your face isn’t large enough.
I had the full body massage. It’s a combination of Swedish, Shiatsu and Thai techniques. It was very relaxing and soothing, especially because my masseur was obviously trained well and went about the whole routine in a fluid and unhurried manner. Oh by the way, the body massage (Php250) lasts for an hour and 45 minutes! Now that’s pampering.
BodyBliss offers three other therapies: back massage with oil (same style as the full body), for Php150 (45 mins); back dry massage (Shiatsu + Thai) for Php100; and, foot massage for Php150 (45 mins).
For reservations, call 300-0300. Or if you walk in and the place is full, they have the perfect waiting area: an Internet café that doubles as a coffee shop with the perfunctory free wifi access.

Wow, I got another massage parlor to try with.
Thanks Blog.
truly an oasis downtown… keep it up!
Done. I was there yesterday afternoon.
Masseuse – 5 stars
Place – 3 stars
Music – 2 stars(too loud)
Bed – 3 stars
Total 4 stars. It’s how I was pampered that weighs much.
@eljae — Thanks! I will definitely keep it up. :)
@dennis — I like your scoring system! :)

Mercy is perfect! Excellent service!!!
just tried yesterday with my friends the bodybliss experience at claveria as suggested here by blogie. In fairness di naman maingay, ganda nga ng ambiance eh! I have second thoughts of going there kasi maingay at di daw magaling as stated here by nol pero pare it was the best experience! Their place and services is far from other massage clinic and mura ang 2 hours nila(tinodo ko n talaga). Rain ang name ng nag handle sa akin, ang galing! My firends have the same wonderful experience. Thank you blogie!

ETO NA YATA ANG PINA KA WORST NA SPA I EVER SEEN
the dirtiest spa…ang pangit, marumi and kadiri at may daga pati. Ang CR ay common at ang rumi, pare.
To all who is reading this comment I suggest don't ever patronize this SPA. The management is not friendly so w/ their staff. You better close your spa if you mismanage it.
na experience ko rin iyan! Grabe ka diri to death!
blogie are the owner of this SPA…my friends had very bad experienced in this place. There was hanky panky, you know what I mean. Shiiiiiiiiiiit!
No, I'm not the owner of this massage place. I wrote about them when they were still very new. To be honest, I've never been back after that. If you want a clean place with good masseurs / masseuses, go to Firm Therapeutic Massage & Spa. I don't own that either, but that's where I go to get a massage.
I HATE TO MAKE COMMENTS BUT IT'S TRUE YOU BETTER CLOSE YOUR SPA! I WILL REPORT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT TO THE GOVT. YOU BETTER PREPARE. YOUR COMFORT ROOM IS COMMON. YOU SHOULD HAVE A SEPARATE COMFORT ROOM, VERY DIRTY, AND WORST MANAGEMENT.
I RATE YOU ZERO.
Last November, I paid a visit to a friend in Davao and the trip from Bacolod to Davao was a long way and stressful. My ex-bf and I decided to have a body massage and dropped by to Bodybliss. We asked the receptionist if we can both be in the same room but according to her, it's not allowed so we agreed but as we enter the room, only curtains separates us and we don't argue on it anymore for we believe they protect the privacy of their customers. I got a lady masseuse and a male masseur for my ex. For an hour, I wonder the masseuse have to leave us from time to time. Far different from my other experiences in other spas. I felt good in a way but as we go along, and goes to the head part, i wonder why she has to flip the blanket over and over, higher and higher on my chest. I was damn ignorant that the curtain from the other side is one third open. i just savor and feel the massage while closing my eyes as i was so tired and need to relax. nAfter the massage and dressed up, as I opened the the curtain to my ex side, He asked me if nasilipan daw ako, and it refreshes me the part where the masseuse has to flip the blanket over me for few times because he also wondered why the curtain is open. We've been quite as we pay for the services and went out. But in the back of my head, what we paid for wasn't fair for the services and the ambiance they have. Noisy masseuses, the atmosphere wasn't much relaxing either. nReading all these comments, i do really agree that these establishment has to close. Training is insufficient and the vision of the massage wasnt fulfilled on each customers. I do really refuse to recommend it to my other friends or any other people who wants to relax instead they harass their customers and give traumas. They should learn about proper draping, proper massage and privacy that the masseuses and the masseurs itself breaks the morality of the establishment. nI like Davao a lot and these establishment is a crap to ruin the reputation of Dabawenyos.
Thank you for your feedback, Lor. There are many other massage places in Davao to choose from. What I would recommend now is Nuad Thai, located in Barrio Obrero.
Thanks! I would surely try your suggestion the next time I visit Davao in few months. Anyway,I hope our comments and suggestions will go through the management..
