Here’s the official press release for the 1st Pre-Kadayawan Poker Tournament.

The Metro Madayaw Poker Room, Davao’s first and only legal poker room, in cooperation with Casino Filipino Davao will be conducting the 1st Million Peso Pre-Kadayawan Poker Tournament on August 11, 2007 at the Pantawan Hall of Casino Filipino Davao.

Players from all over the country are expected to arrive & play No Limit Texas Hold’em and vie for the top prize which includes a seat to the 1st APPT Poker Tournament. The APPT will be conducting its first poker tournament on August 23-26 in Manila with a buy-in of USD 2,500 and an estimated prize pool of 25 Million Pesos, one of the, if not, the biggest ever poker event in the country to date. International professional poker players will be participating in this once in a lifetime event.

Prize pay out for the tournament will be for the top 10 players and organizers will guarantee a PhP 750,000 prize pool. Aside from the guaranteed cash prizes, up for grabs is a chance to win PhP 250,000 to the first player to make a Royal Flush! Players must use his two (2) hole cards combined with three (3) cards on the board to be able to qualify to win the PhP 250,000.

Registration for the tournament will be from 12:00-1:00 pm and dealing will start promptly at 1:30 pm. Buy-in is PhP 5,000 + PhP 1,000 registration fee. Players participating in the tournament will be allowed one (1) Re-Buy at PhP 5,000 and one (1) Add-on also at PhP 5,000.

Organizers have revealed that players from Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and the neighboring provinces of General Santos City, Cotabato, Marbel and Tacurong have likewise committed to play in this event.

Daily satellites are conducted at the Metro Madayaw Poker Room at the Madayaw Room of the Casino Filipino Davao for only PhP 500.
