Davao cuisine photo tilt

[UPDATED: 28 May 2007]

It has always tickled my fancy to write about food. While I have attempted this a few times in the past, I don’t think I’ve really gotten into the thing yet. For one, I have very limited cooking experience, and I sure know close to nothing when it comes to recipes and such. But, I love good food! :D

In the meantime, why not a photography tilt that has food in focus? Specifically, photos of gastronomical experiences in Davao!

Yep, this is a contest! Entries must be photos of anything that has to do with food, taken anywhere in the Davao Region (Davao City, Mati, Tagum, Digos, Samal…). Use your imagination! I’m not looking for cookbook shots — make your pictures intriguing, evocative, interesting!

    Here are the inevitable mechanics:

  • One photo per participating blog (if you have 2 or more blogs, then you can have as many entries).
  • Photo must be original and recent (you retain rights to your photo, of course).
  • Provide a caption that briefly describes your work of art.
  • Post your photo on your own blog, and link to www.AngDabawenyo.com using this anchor text: Davao cuisine (See sample below).
  • Make sure to leave a comment on (or a trackback to) this post, so I’ll know you’re joining. Please don’t forget to supply the URL to your blog!
  • This here contest is open to all bloggers who love Davao!
  • Judging will be done on 26 & 27 31 May 2007, so all entries must be posted on or before 25 May 2007 that date.
  • There will be 2 winners, and those will be announced on 28 May 2007 4 June 2007 via this blog.
  • Judges: Rhonson Ng and Jojie Alcantara
  • Prizes: Two (2) gift certificates worth P1,000 each
@ Hanoi (you can cross-order from Tsuru as well)
    plus bragging rights!!

Hanoi serves excellent Vietnamese cuisine. And while you’re at it, try their native Vietnamese coffee. This restaurant is in the same building as Tsuru, beside Casa Leticia, J. Camus St., Davao City.

Let’s have fun, boys & girls! I can’t wait to see your pictures. Good luck!!

My Davao cuisine photo contest entry

sample photo contest entry

This is my entry in the Davao cuisine photo contest. I know it doesn’t show much about the food (it was really yummy, though!), but since Abe Olandres and Aileen Apolo are in it, I think I have a chance of winning big time!

I have some minor concerns but I don’t desire to commence a lengthy post and somebody might flame me. Just wish to maintain this blog civil and clean. Wouldn’t like any hatemail would i? lol keep it up!
