More places to go to
I’ve been preoccupied with my Japanese clients lately I haven’t had time to check out Davao’s newly-opened restaurants and cafés. But it hasn’t stopped me from noticing them. As soon as I have the time — and extra cash — I’ll sample all of these new places and their offerings.
There’s Barbecue Boss over at the K1 compound, F. Torres St. It’s an open-air affair and specializing in — you guessed it! — grilled goodies. If I’m not mistaken, they opened before Valentine’s.
One that did open last 14th is Pards. It’s on Quirino Ave. and, by the looks of it, they also serve mainly grilled fare. The place is big too, with a wide area for parking.
An addition to Davao’s restaurant row is Coffee Pod. You won’t miss their huge sign along F. Torres. Each time I see a new coffee shope, the more I’m proven right when I said sometime ago (albeit offline) that Davao is coffee shop country. Well, I’d better head for this new one and give their brew a review.
Coffee shop country, but only in terms of sheer number…. In terms of quality concoctions, however, much is left to be desired. I can still count with one hand the number of cafés that serve excellent coffee here in Davao. Hopefully, with increasing competition, the situation will soon change for the better.
Let’s ses… what else? Darn, I really should get out more…. Wait, don’t I already??
It should be: I should try to go to different places other than Basti’s Brew.
