Welcome to my spanking new domain!
After much thought, I finally decided to transfer my Davao blog to its very own domain: www.angdabawenyo.com. And I thought I’d change the name from The Davaoeños to the one you see on top of the page. I was resistant to move at first, because it seemed rather disloyal to just quit Blogger. But then again, I doubt very much that they’d really give a damn if someone up and left them (well, unless droves of bloggers suddenly did an exodus on them…). Hey, no complaints against Google’s Blogger service — in fact, I still have my other blogs over there.
Ang Dabawenyo is still the same blog that I’d envisioned it to be, but with more oomph! now, especially with my sizzlin’ WordPress installation. Yum-mee! I’m rarin’ to go blogging some more!
I am grateful to Bob Martin for giving me the final push that made me decide to take this next step in making my blog truly my own. I had coffee with the Martins (Bob and Feyma) at Bo’s Coffee Club today, and later moved to their lovely home. I first met Bob in 1996, when the Internet finally came to Davao. I quickly discovered mailing lists, and that’s how I got to know Bob & Feyma. Talking to them today inspired me to move forward in my newly-rediscovered niche in the IT industry. But the person who really challenged me on from the start has always been Janette Toral, who, since the year 2000, has been a significant contributor to the development of Davao’s IT industry. My thanks go out to these good friends.
Well then, a-blogging we go!
