Just found out — nominations for the best Pinoy blogs are open at The 2007 Philippine Blog Awards!!! You can nominate your own blog, or anyone else’s whose blog you think deserves to win.
The Award site lists 12 categories:

I went over to the site and tried to nominate some blogs. The categories are tricky, though. I mean, it’s not easy to choose which category a blog should belong to. Flashback to my college days: as my philosophy professor would say, ‘huwag ikahon ang tao’. By the same token, I find it difficult to stuff a good blog into a single category, because it would seem like I was limiting its potential.
But I guess we do need to have order to sort ourselves out of the chaos. So, when nominating a blog in The 2007 Philippine Blog Awards, try to choose the category that best characterizes it.
Speaking of awards, the Bisaya Bloggers community blog is running a contest called "You know you’re in Davao when… Photo/Essay Contest". Pretty clever, if you ask me. This contest is in support of the upcoming 1st Davao Blog Party in 17 March 2007. The winner, if not based in Davao City, will be given a delicious prize — a trip to Davao to attend the blog party and take part in the festivities of Araw ng Dabaw. Neat huh?
