Twosome Palace
Sunday found me with birthday boy Ichido, his family and his guests from Japan at a Korean restaurant, called Twosome Palace. My Japanese friends actually like Korean cuisine — they share my passion for spice.
Thing is, I still haven’t memorized Korean food names beyond bulgogi, which we had. There was this interesting play with salad veggies (lettuce, carrots, cucumber, etc.) and barbecued meats. You take a piece of lettuce leaf, stuff it with the veggies and grilled meat, add a dash of Korean miso, then dip it into a sesame oil concoction. Yum!
One of us was actually Korean (but taking up Japanese language studies in Yokohama — go figure!), and he did mention the names of the dishes, but I can’t recall anymore. I was enjoying the food so much, I forgot to write the names down! The shoju didn’t help either.
I love Japanese language and culture, and their cuisine. But, Korean food all the more because of the spices. I was rather disappointed, though, because only a few of the whole spread was actually spicy enough for me. I guess maybe I should’ve told the staff about it. The service was good, however, and that means I give the place a thumbs-up.
Why the name, I wonder? Twosome Palace. Must mean something in Korean…. Must’ve been lost in translation….

I can’t believe I didn’t say where this resto was… It was probably the shoju… hehehe
Twosome Palace is within the Victoria Plaza Mall compound, Bajada. It’s near Ahfat and Sen Ton Wan.
Bon appetit!
